Role Summary:
GridStor is looking for an experienced Sr. Project Developer to join a nimble, driven passionate team focused on bringing critical infrastructure projects online as quickly as possible. This role will be responsible for supporting development of GridStor’s project pipeline in the Central and Eastern US including, SPP, PJM, and MISO markets. The Development team is tasked with successfully executing complex projects at a scale that delivers value to our partners and investors. The Sr. Project Developer will play a key role in creating grid-scale battery energy storage system projects that can be financed, built, owned, and operated by the company. The role will include completing real estate due diligence and transactions, land use permitting, environmental due diligence, and all other efforts necessary to bring a project to Notice to Proceed.

The role will include completing real estate due diligence and transactions, land use permitting, environmental due diligence, and all other efforts necessary to bring a project to Notice to Proceed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development of energy storage projects from site selection analysis through construction commencement, coordinating closely with other teams to ensure all issues are vetted and resolved.
- Scope and manage external consultants to complete real estate and environmental/permitting due diligence.
- Drive acquisition of new land deals for greenfield development opportunities.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including elected officials, to support community engagement, permitting efforts, and policy implementation
- Draft permit applications and work closely with Development Team to support consultants, government staff, community stakeholders, and elected officials to secure land use entitlements and permits.
- Work with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), and Finance teams to coordinate efforts and ensure projects achieve overall goals and milestones.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, GIS experience a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of prior work experience in power project development
- Proficiency in energy project development functions and key workflows; ability to manage external vendors and contracts to complete project diligence
- Location & Availability: Work in office in Denver, CO or work from Portland, OR headquarters.
- Must be willing to travel on a regular basis (up to 25%)
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail. Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and seeing delegated projects through to completion.
- Adaptability: Ability to be agile and flexible, readily taking on tasks outside the typical scope of the role as needed.
- Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with utmost discretion.
- Integrity & Judgment: Strong track record of excellent judgment and integrity in previous roles.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and TEAMS.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and public speaking skills and the ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders
- Problem-Solving: Adaptable, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and approach challenges with a creative, proactive mindset.
